Interesting DP marked LE Mk1 found at a local show

I happend on this Long Lee Enfiled Mk1 at a local show. Of interest is that it is matching and also numbered on knox form, receiver and bolt rood with DP 4105, which I take as an assigned DP inventory number. I have never encountered a numbered DP marking before this one.

Do you think the "DP" and "4105" are contemporaneous?

Looks to me like the "4105" is one of those unexplained serial re-numberings that occur on Long Lees. Is/was the barrel a replacement?

The barrel appears to be original. Given a unit mark of 9/1901 (year 1901) on buttstock flat, I would assume the DPing happened in 1901 or later.
