I found this Springfield Armory Model CF .922 cal. 22LR and I would be pleased to have your impressions looking at the photographs
SPRINGFIELD 1903 cal. 22 lr

The owner is asking for € 2,500 about US$ 3,125
Is the price correct for this kind of rifle which seems to be hard to find in Italy ?

Do you mean to say that stock and cartouches are not original ?

The stock itself looks OK to me, but the crossed cannon acceptance mark and the notch for the cutoff are not original. Does the stock have a circle P proof on the pistol grip, and is the bolt electro pencil numbered to the rifle?

Forgot to add, but it appears about $2000 too high in the U.S.

Unfortunatly I don't know.
At moment I just saw those pictures, I will try to go and check the rifle.

i belive the stock, and markings are reproductions. and yes the rifle has been commercial reparked and done after it was imported, look close at the proof markings.

This forum is a place to come and learn. What is it that gives the stock away as a reproduction? The crossed cannons are about as bad as I have seen and not even appropriate on the stock, but what about the stock itself?

Johnny, my M2 has no notch in the stock to accommodate the "OFF" position for the cut-off. I am not an expert on the .22 Springfields but since the magazine cutoff serves no purpose (except as a bolt latch) I am inlined to think the stock may be bogus.

I noted the cut off notch as not being correct in my original post, but like the bad crossed cannons was added later.
