Hard to find a good one.

I dunno what to say ! I thought I had seen all the tricks but a guy here is trying to sell #670181 which has been cut in half behind the grip and a new rear wood added on. Also just found #2158185 and #1075962 for sale which are just as bad. My P.C crashed, just getting on the road again. Cheers all. Mikey. N.Z.Attachment 34585

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. The grain on that stock matches pretty darn good. I wonder if it had been checkered and they removed the checkering rather than replacing the back half? - Bob

Mikey, I guess you are right about it being two parts. I just found this info on the gun:

Carbine. M1icon. Cal .30 As issued with sling and oiler, 5 shot mag. Manufacturer's name to
barrel (Inland) but has been removed from action. Thinning
parkerising. VG bore. Woodwork good but unusual having been made
in 2 parts. (Cut behind pistol grip but looks original).

Doesn't look like any GI fix I've ever seen, but you gotta admit he did a really nice job of it.

Mikey, glad you're up and running again. Computer crashes are a real hassle aren't they?
