Would it be wise to get my Grandpa's Dress Hat cleaned for presentation??????

And where would I do such a thing. I'm wanting to put together a spot where I can display some of my Grandpa's things and I still have his Dress Hat. It's one of those wide ones with the shiny bill and a metal emblem on the Front. Khaki. He was Army, but he wore this with his dress Khaki's. I have a picture to prove it. Although the hat is sitting on the table. He was a Sgt, so I guess maybe it was a Sgt hat???? Anyways...

Any thoughts and ideas would help. I'll get a picture up.

Unless it overly stained or grimy I'd leave it alone. If it's just dusty then a soft brush should take most of it off. If you have a small lower power vacuum cleaner, then use the brush attachment and that will do a good job. I clean my military head gear this way. Just be gentle
and take your time. How about a picture?

Is it from his pink's? (Khaki's with a hint of pink)
and I agree with Jake , if its not stained I would just leave it as is.

I'll have to bring it up in the sunlight for some better pics, but I have a pic, just to show you. It really needs to be repaired. There is a band that goes around the inner band that is supposed to keep the part with the emblem upright. And that has separated. So it really doesn't sit or "stand" the way it should.

I think that's the hat in the second picture sitting on the table to his right, our left.
