    7.35 ammo question

I didn't really think about it at the time I bought this stuff as it was only $5 at a yard sale and had three clips with it. It's a partial box of 7.35 carcano ammo, 8 rounds, in the original cardboard box. It is a mix of spitzer and round nose bullets in military brass. The odd part is all the bullets are soft points.

Did they actually make this stuff at some point or am I looking at reloaded berdan primed cartridges?

Not extremely pressing as I don't have anything to fire them out of anyway.

Pulling military 7.35 bullets and putting in soft point bullets was not unusual in the 60's and 70's. Some surplus companies sold them this way as brass to reload was not being made or was hard to find. This made their surplus rifles more attractive to buy to use for hunting.

Did they put them back in the original cardboard boxes to sell them then? The box does have something written on it in pen on the back but I can't easily decipher it.

Interarms did that with lots of surplus ammo they got out of Finlandicon. Early in WWII, the Italians took their brand new 7.35 Terni rifles and ammo out of service, to stream-line their supply system, and sent the lot to Finland for use in their fight against the Soviets.

I have some of the reboxed Interarms or Interarmco 6,5 ammo somewhere. Oddly, it seems the soft point 6,5 is in 7,35 boxes, IIRC. Been a while since it "surfaced", though!
