Home Guard Insignia

Does anyone know where/how I can research home guard insignia? Specifically in the Billericay, Essex area. Are there books on the subject? I'd like to put together a uniform, but don't know much about it. Yeah I know just call me Pvt. Pike. Thanks for your help

Two differeent addresses for the publisher, so you might do a google search. The publisher's address is from the 2001 edition

You could also try some used book sellers who might have a copy most of the pages in these have colour illustrtions

The uniforms are now a rare find and demand a high price, leather work still available, gaitors belts etc on ebay, but regarding the early denim Work/BD blouse and trousers then its repro stuff, I had an original not long ago which was the Denim blouse complete with shoulder flash, of course that was when I had the collectors room, which is now the babys room, her mum was against bayonets , uniforms etc on the babys wall, strange women.........

I did see some denim stuff at the War and Peace, don,t know if it was new old stock or repro, but had the distinct denim white flecks in it. blouse and trousers were £65 each.

To add to Johns list of books, The Home Guard, by David Carroll, this is mostly a collection of photos of different units in training etc.

If there is anything this side of the pond your after let me know more than happy to help out.
