1903 vs Yugo Mauser target pics

Same day, same shooter, 100 yards
    Shooting from the prone position.

1903 using my reloads. (Target A)
Mauser using 1938 Turk surplus. (Taget B)

With my bad vision I was fuzzing out the Mauser v-notch a bit, but can get a better sight picture with the '03 aperature

Good for you, L&L. This reminds me (and probably quite a few others) that we ought to be spending a little more time on the range. Pretty good target work shooting from the prone.

I was impressed by the showing the Yugoicon rifle made, considering the Turk ammo was up against reloads.

The dog would be well advised to not stand there if I were shooting open sights. I think both rifles shot extremely well.

The Dog does have a look of relief on its face, next outing L&L use a target with same dimensions as the one in the milsurp comp/shoot go to the "range reports show us how goo you are forum" and post the result.

Sounds like fun-I'll give that a shot.
Gonna try some "new" Yugoicon M75 sniper ammo when it arrives
FYI the dog hates wearing eye and ear protection

Pull the Turk bullet. Re-load the case to 40gr. Turk powder. Re-seat bullet and raise your sights to 300 meters. You are ready to go. Good luck.

You do know that your comparison is only applicable to the two sample rifles and ammo you used? And would not be an indication of one type of rifle being better then the other.

I see this kind of head to head test with 30+ year old camera lenses all the time (other big hobby) and its only a sample vs sample test in reality.

good shooting. My BRNO 98/22 doesnt like turk ammo, so I have to reload for it. I like the ROCK backstop behind the target frames.
