5 digit Husqvarna Swedish Mauser

Was at a LGS (local gun store) yesterday and saw an odd Swedish Mauser. Receiver ring had the usual markings for a Husky model and was dated 1942. Barrel was a 29" model and had the threaded end. The receiver was numbered 49,95x. The bolt was marked 073 and appeared to be internal correct. Stock and bolt release match the receiver ((95x). Trigger guard was 985.

I have never seen a 5 digit Husqvarna Swedish Mauser. This one appeared to be a military receiver, dated "42" and has the stripper clip slot. All of the Husqvarna Swedes I have seen are 6xx,xxx series. Anyone know the story on this one?

If it is in the original Military m/96 configuration, it has a Replacement receiver. 49,95x would be a 1900 date Mauser Oberndorf made rifle. Mismatched parts including the bolt. Even if SOME smaller parts were mis-matched during a late (1970s-1980s) Arsenal rebuild, the BOLT should match the RECEIVER if it was done at the Arsenal or Repair station.

If it is NOT in original Military configuration, but is sporterized, it is possible that it is a Husqvarna factory Sporter.

Is the receiver ring marked with a stylized "H" or does it say "Huskvarna Vapenfabriks - Aktiebolag" on it?

Pictures would be a great help if you want this rifle identifled.

It was in military configuration, had "Huskvarna Vapenfabriks - Aktiebolag" on the ring. It looks just like the receiver on my M38 Husqvarna, except for the serial.

Replacement receiver for an original m/96 rifle, (29 inch barrel). The barrel was likely replaced or modified after 1955, (threaded for Blank Firing Attachment.) If you can look under the stock in the wrist area just back of the trigger guard, you will probably see some Crowns with letters under them (such as Crown S) that tell of Arsenal visits, (if the stock is original.) Otherwise, it might be a late model rebuild where various numbered parts are used, but, the BOLT number should match the Receiver number.
