The safes are being burst open, I told you, you were on shaky ground.(now another eruption in the North Isle.)
It's an interesting piece, pity he has restricted it to NZicon only.
What other markings are on this action? unusual to see a stamp of that depth on the receiver, it would take a roll punch or be done in the mould.

I wonder just how many makers and how many their were, other than PH and Fulton, who accurized enfields over the years on a recognizable. known brand, basis?
I see mine now has crossed 1000 views, amazing.

Unless something very wild happens I have to behave myself with the ol $, sad to do all this but I hope to stay in contact with the buyer in the future. Lets just say I greatly enjoyed being the temporary custodian and lucky to be able to restore some of its former glory somewhat. It should be a giant killer if she makes it back to the range.

Though I’m far from an expert and I’m working from memory so take this with a grain of salt but Globco was a Canadian company/importer/sporting goods store /gun smith/bubba famous (infamous??) for their conversion to 303 Britishicon and sporterization of the SVT-40 (Mohawk 555). They also did several different variations on the Lee Enfield sporter theme as well as sell surplus arms. Even here in Canadaicon they have marginal collector interest. If I had to guess and using the fact that it has been scrubbed of all markings I’d say this is nothing more than a Globco sporter that has been re-fitted with full wood and a PH sight or perhaps one assembled from parts by then and fitted with the afore mentioned PH sight. The one aberration is the “H” barrel. Perhaps fitted post import to NZicon? Additionally shouldn’t we see an “H” on the knox form?
I'm sure that if smellie, warren or surpmil take notice they can correct me......

I think globco was a canadian company and I don,t think they were into building SMLE target rifles. Anybody building a target rifle would not take the time to scrub all the markings.

Globe Firearms in Vanier (Ottawa) made sportered rifles. I do not recall if they had a trade mark stamp that looked like that.
The only possible way that it could be the same company would be if the body from a sported rifle was used as the basis for an older style target rifle. Somehow I doubt it.
