    Help on ID a 1911...

Would like to tap the expertise and opinions of those 1911 gurus out there if I may. I picked this up on the cheap, and don't know what to do with it....it functions fine, and I know some parts aren't proper. Real curious about the SN, with the xx suffix, and the really awkward US Property stampings. So, do I pretty it up, leave it alone, sell as a package, or part it out? Many thanks in advance, and happy Labor Day!
    ......apologies for the sorry photos

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Looks like a rebuild with a buffed slide. I believe a Colt but I'm no expert on these.

It is a mess. The frame may be an Argentineicon and hopefully with an original serial number. The added markings apparently are a mix of fantasy and attempted fake US military. The barrel is a high standard. Slide is a mess and could be M1911 but hard to tell. Hope you paid very little for that.
