    I have an Eddystone '17 that has an unmarked barrel with four grooves, right hand twist. I assume it is a JA barrel. It's a little smaller diameter behind the front sight than my original Remington.

    It's got me puzzled. It's unmarked, smaller diameter and has a flat muzzle. It's got a great bore and shoots good with cast bullets. Another of life's mysteries.

    I thought of that, too. Seems strange to not have any markings on it but as long as it shoots good, I'm pleased with it.

    Useful news for owners of P-14, M-17 and No4 rifles here:

    Cost will be the decider, especially with the "fun" to be had fitting P-14 barrels.
