Unhappy Problem With M 1893 Turkish Mauser

    Hi Guys,
I'm hoping someone can lead me in the right direction. I bought an M 1893 turkish mauser that was missing it's bolt. I was able to find a few bolts to match online and tried several till I found one that closed with a bullet in the chamber and had the least amount of play. The problem is that after about four or five shots the bolt won't close all the way. What's happening? Is the headspace too tight or too loose?

I would get it to a gunsmith and have him check the headspace. The 1893 Mausers are difficult to headspace. Did you actually find a Germanicon 93 bolt? You may well have a Spanish bolt. Any proof marks on the bolt? But start with a gunsmith.
