    Cleaned up my Lithgow

If any of you remember when I first posted this rifle you'll remember it was stocked in a horrific looking Indian forestock. The stock never bedded correctly and since then that it has rotted out. Luckily, I had the great fortune of being able to acquire a NOS forestock and rear handguard.
In any event, here she is, all cleaned up. She won't win any beauty contests and isn't nearly as historical as some of the beautiful rifles on this forum, but it's still a great rifle and I love it.

In the attached photos I attempted to capture all of the rifles character as well as all the distinctive markings.

Thanks for all the kind words I am really pleased on how it turned out. I was having some severe accuracy problems before so I'm hoping the new forestock will help improve that a little as well.

Also somewhat unrelated, simply out of curiosity, what is the small screw underneath the charger bridge for?

It's the ejector screw. Watch when you extract a spent case slowly, it's not until the rim of the case hits the protruding screw that the case ejects.
