    Ten,
Is that a Winchester type 2 band? If so, I want it.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). My list (personal preference only, and I do not have everything on this list yet, and it will probably change) is to have on hand at least one of everything that either moves, contains a number of small parts, is known to break, or is small enough to lose very easily. So, my list is:
Complete set of springs, complete set of pins, spare bolt (complete, checked to the rifle and ready to drop in and use), spare bolt "guts" (all the internal parts), spare pawl(s) for the bolt tool.
To be clear, I look at these as parts needed to keep my carbines running, not to maintain "originality," so I am not concerned with them being "correct" for the rifle. If the parts are USGI, I am good to go. For example, a 1950's round bolt is fine for my 1943 Underwood.
    Just my 2 cents worth.

That seems like a logical, less expensive list! I like it. And I'm totally with you on worrying about functionality rather than originality. All that matters is that in 60 years, this carbines still running like a champ, with hopefully all USGI parts.

It's funny how like minds think the same. My boxes look like the ones pictured above, right down to Jim's with the 3M sticky notes. I ended up using scotch tape at the tops of the sticky notes so they wouldn't keep falling off. - Bob

Thanks--yeah, I'm logical. To a fault, sometimes, but always logical!!
I should have added that this list of parts is ONE set of parts for all my carbines (2 Underwoods currently, goal of about 6 or so), not one set for each rifle. Woof--no way could I do that!!!

It's all good, and all this carbine chatting has made me realize that I really really need to take the twins to the range next weekend..............

I've only got one for now. Always thought Garands were my thing, but when I got my first carbine, I became addicted. I hope to add quite a few more. Haven't shot mine in a few months now. But yeah, I plan to have enough spare parts for maybe 2 rifles.
