    HELP: Spare Parts?

With the number of Garandicon collectors growing every year, the USGI items are starting to dry up, and I want to stock pile extras while possible. What would be parts that should be in every Garand tool box (parts that are most likely to wear down or break over the years)? My Garand is a late '44 Springfield.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. op rods, hammers,

bolts last for 5 barrels approximately a receiver lasts about 5 bolts IIRC

Thanks! Now my Garand isn't an every day shooter. She stays in my safe and gets fired every couple of months, so I doubt I'll go through that many bolts, but I plan on keeping her in the family for generations to come, so I figured spare parts would be good to have.

I would have a few sets of :
    Ejector and spring
    Extractor and spring and plunger
And one each of the following :
    firing pin
bullet guide ( hump wears out )
follower arm ( can bend ) and pin ( can loose )
follower and slide assmly ( cheep and can cause timing problems , but 2nd least important on my list )
op rod catch and accelerator ( timing / clip ejection )
follower rod ( timing , but prob'ly least important on list )
clip latch spring ( often ejection problem )
    op spring ( cheep )

Should set you up quite nicely.
    Chris
