1917 BSA meets Aldis Pattern 3 Scope - a shotgun wedding

Well, I've picked up a nice 1917 BSA target rifle which seems to have had not much up the spout, in fact the bore is beautiful. Its got a Heavy Motty Barrel and came with a central no.4 mount . So I had to go buy a Central No.4 sight and that makes for a nice target rifle. BUT then I found a nice looking Holland & Holland Aldis Pattern 3 Scope. I need help, what do I do? It seems like a match made in heaven. How can I get the scope mounted on this rifle ? Does any one know what type of mount it requires (are they over bore or to the side?) and are repros available ? All suggestions wecolme. Cheers Tatmattd

DRP, where are you? Maybe the good doctor will have a set of bases and rings for you. I think they'd make a very nice couple!
