Please help me defeat bubba, how can I change the rear sight assembly

Attachment 37523Attachment 37524Attachment 37525I have to change the rear sight that Bubba messed up. I have never done this before and would like to know how? I see I will have to also remove the front sight in order to replace the rear sight assemble. I am reasonably handy and would like to do this myself if possible. Thanks

for the most part the rifle is complete. The sight needs to be replaced after it was molested and tore up.

1891? Lots of fun undoing bubba's work when he did not molest beyond repair.

1909...... I am reading I must use heat to melt the solder then slide it forward. Is there a screw under the front sight blade? This will need to be remove for the rear sight to come off?

It's best to check. I'm pretty sure a 1909 would have the front sight base screw which does need to be removed.
