    A little help needed please.

I am looking for images of the correct way a rifle and helmet would be placed in the ground for ww2 burial detail for the Canadianicon forces.

I have found this as a rough idea.

But am wondering about the sling as well. Would it be left on the rifle? And if so would it be drawn tight?

    Thank you for your help.

I think that those types of burial were temporary until the rifle could be reclaimed and re-issued. Probably rigged however it was last dropped.
