    j c higgins

i stumbled onto your forum, thanks for having me.
My dad left me a old j c higgins 20 gauge, model 583.25
he got it in '61. when he was stationed at north dakota
the gun has some strange markings, i thought ya'll could help me with
on the barrel, below the model # is etched by hand NDAF00100B457
there is also a P stamp next to the model #
    NA is engraved under sears
since he was stationed in north dakota. i am guessing that ndaf is north dakota air force
what do ya'll think, gun is worth 100 bucks. but i want to know the lineage
    thanks frodo

Have never seen a military marked J C Higgins. 20 guages aren't common either, and would tend to indicate it was likely for base use as a sporting weapon that could be checked out .

    Photos wouldn't hurt!
