With the limited amount of info you have posted.....no, can't really comment on its value.
If all it has is a serial number, why do you think it's Israeli? A few different countries have made or converted Mausers to .308, not to mention "Bubba". There are no other markings on the rifle?

I'll repeat: "There are no other markings on the rifle?"
If there are no other markings on the rifle, other than the serial number mentioned in the OP, there is no positive ID that it is Israeli, and no valuation is possible. Look it over really well.

    Ok jonnyc

I will get my hands on it after Christmas and I will put some pics on this site we will find about that rifle all together. The only thing I remeber about that rifle there was a K98icon on the receiver and a serial on the left side I only saw that rifle a very short periode of time and a few weeks later my friend propose it to me so I accep it right away but here in Quebec the law about the transfer of a rifle from one person to another is a little bit KORKY if I can say that.

I think you can say "KORKY", we're all adults here.
Look forward to seeing the info on the rifle. If Israeli, it should have a big "7.62" on both the receiver and the butt-stock.

    HI everybody !!!!

First of all I would like to apologize to you all in my earlier post I was refering to a Israeli Mauser the rifle my friend was selling me.
After a much closer look of the rifle it turn down to be something quite different I think.

The rifle in question is a Mauser Karabiner 98a (1898) it has been denazified that's why I was mistaking thinking of a Israeli one. You will see there's a serial on the stock (3214) and it repeat on different part of the rifle.

But on the receiver there's a different serial (9798R) restamping ?????you can still see the 7.92 on the receiver so she still a 8 MM that's was my first interrest.

The only part not matching is the trigger guard, there's a letter B on the stock, the bolt is blue and it's straight I think it was always like this because there's is no groove on the wood for a turn down bolt, the riffling looks good.

I estimate the year of production is after 1915 because of the grasping groove on the rifle. So for $300.00 bucks what you guys think for my part I was not let this one past by.

Sounds like a Polish Kar98a. Poland received piles of them after WWI. Ground clean and re-blued. Sold off to Spain(?) Bad bores on most and not much collector interest. Price seems OK to me.
