    Mauser ammo box id please:

    The rounds appear to be brass cased ball with no tip paint, both boxes green primer sealed. Wondering if the 'red overstamp' box might be tracer? Thanks, Don

    Ah, from another source found out it is probably just heavy ball, 'red' over stamp denoting 'in clips'. Don

    I expect you already know the bullets would be spitzer pointed but, the "s.S." on the box is what specifies that:

    ''s.S.'' is ''schweres Spitz Geschoss'' (military FMJ heavy pointed, Boat Tail, BT)
