Sight adjustment - Model 27 & 28 Finn Rifles

The model 27 and 28 rifles have a very odd front sight design - - the blade
dovetaii is transverse but is carried in a longitudinal sight holder that slides out to the front when its setscrew is removed. (it might also slide to the rear but I didn't try it.)I installed a tall Mauser front sight from Brownells, which I will have to file down once I get to the range. In order to install I had to file a new dovetail on the Brownell sight with a triangular file, and narrow the edges, which was easily done with a mill file. The new sight was a tight fit in the stock dovetail, which is what I wanted. What I discovered is that my Swiss sight adjusting tool (not the real Swiss Army one - that won't work this way) will work to make fine lateral adjustments of the Brownell sight blade. The adjuster is only $15 on eBay and the auction number is 280291052390. It is a "$buy it now" no bidding item, but a very worthwhile tool for adjusting K 31 sights and now for adjusting M 27 and 28 sights.
