Colt Trooper III 22LR&22 magnum
I recently acquired a colt trooper III. It was in a wooden display box. The firearm came with two cylinder 22 LR and 22 Magnum. The revolver is blue, 4 inch barrel and is in about 98 percent. The LR cylinder had been fired, but I don't think the magnum has been fired. The serial number Y112XX which dates it to 1980 firearm. Neither cylinder is marked. The barrel is marked 22 magnum. I can not find any information on a trooper with two cylinders, someone told it was rare and only 500 were made. Without obtaining a colt letter does any body have any knowledge of this gun.
Thanks: VernonMorris

First I've heard of such a thing. Scarce enough with S&Ws. But DA Colts?
Photos?

Colt did ship some Colt Trooper 111 revolvers up to 1983 with double cylinders: 22 rim fire and 22 magnum, some just had the extra cylinder others had the crane and cylinder, considered very rare. A letter to Colt might confirm your Colt

Thanks for your reply. I really appreciate this. I think I need to do some more research, maybe even a colt letter as suggested.
