8x56r - where can you get more in Canada

Can anyone suggest a Canadianicon source for my M95? I'm down to my last 10 rnds. My uncle was sayin that Hornady was going to factory produce some but I haven't found any truth to that so far....

I've only ever seen it at gunshows in small lots (1-3 boxes).

I think ammo is made and sold in the US, in Canadaicon you need to reload. Grafs makes the boxer primed brass you need.

I got the Hornady .330 SP bullets and Graf's brass from Jim Friesen (bcredneck.com) about two years ago, and Lee Limited Production dies from Higginsons Powders. I also ordered Lee's .329 mould, and have only shot the cast reloads through my rifle and carbine.

If you keep the Berdan primed ammo, there's an article in the reloading section of surplusrifle.com on how to decap and reload berdan brass. I've got about 100 cases myself, and would consider going down that route if I saw berdan primers for sale here.

    Cheers,

    Frank

    Beadwindow,

I've been talking with Dave at bcredneck.com about getting some bullets for my M95, but I was unaware that he had boxer-primed brass as well! I'm only using my M95 for hunting so I haven't considered casting my own yet, how well do cast boolits shoot in this rifle?

EDIT: Just found your thread on cast bullets in the M95, great read!

PPU Privi makes it but getting in may take a year after ordering. I am still waiting for mine. TradeEx of Montreal has a load of Privi but it is all FMJ.
I have a beautiful carbine that I really would like to use this fall for moose but have no hunting rounds and doubt if I could get all the ingredients and parts together to reload by then.....so one waits and searches.

Boy, I have plenty of bullets, powder, and brass. I'd be more than happy load you some, but I wonder how many hoops one would have to jump through to get them to you.

Thanks for the generous offer Tom. Right now we can't legally get any component for reloading, other than the dies, from the U.S. because Homeland Security will put all in chains and then off to sunny Gitmo? Actually, one can try and get the stuff into Canadaicon but it's not worth the risk. One would hope that with the trade and military and policing agreements something less rigid for non-criminals leaving the U.S. with ammo could be arranged. Hey, governments are the least likely creatures to do the will of the people. I had plans to travel south for some .43 Mauser, 8x56R and 6.5x52mm Carcano ammo but not after I read about the search, seizure and possible charges of Homeland Security goons at the border. It's difficult to understand their actions!

Here's one guy in the Great White North shows surplus Hungarianicon as in stock $15 CAN per 20, but you never know, seems too good to be true. Look on Ammo left frame, scroll down. You can email or maybe call the outfit.

New Arrival, PPU ammo in 7.62 Nagant, 9mm BrLong, 7.5x54 french, 7.5x55 Swiss, etc... - CanadianGunNutz.com

Here's apparently another seller in Canadaicon with PPU for $31 per box, hopefully its a live and legal one.

Also Sportsman's Guide indicated they can ship to Canada, not sure about ammo though. They have it in stock periodically.

If you really want to hunt with the M95, and if you are set up for reloading, order some soft point Hornady bullets from Friesen DJ Friesen Imports::HOME, order some of the PPU FMJ ammo, get the dies, pull the FMJ bullets and make some "Mexican match" hunting ammo.
