Need help identifying a Springfield M1922 M1/M2 scope mount

This came off a Springfield Model 1922 M1icon. It was mounted in the cutoff. Any ideas exactly what it is, who made it and how it was used? --TIA

Why would you say it is a scope mount? Could it have been for a diopter sight aswell? And do you have any pictures showing it mounted?

I was just guessing. It was mounted on the rifle in the cutoff with nothing else. I removed it and installed the correct cutoff. This was maybe ten years ago. It came from the estate of an elderly vet who lived in the Ft. Bragg area. I sold the rifle a couple of years ago.

    Bruce,
My guess is it is a home shop made sight base for a Redfield Olympic or International sight. These Redfield sights would allow for a finer adjustments than the Lyman 48C.

P.S. If your sight base is looking for a new home I would like to ad it my collection of 03 sights & too-dad
