When you say the 'slide' do you mean the breech block carrier? If so, the '960-2302 B62' is the British NSN and manufacturer (BSA-1962) so on that basis, it's a bitzer. Not that it'd worry me unduly

I have a STG58, so don't pretend to be an expert on FAL's.

But I suspect that what you have is a Israeli kit built on a CAI receiver. Other parts may have been swapped... but it looks overall like an Izzy.
The good news is that it looks to be an Izzy HB... the bad news is that its on a CAI receiver. Pretty obvious as you have already noted this.

Izzy kit parts have gone up drastically over the last few years. If I found a functioning FAL right now for $600.00... I would snag it... especially as I find an Izzy as something that I want.

The CAI receiver isn't a big deal to some folks. As you can imagine, CAI quality fluctuated... and the end user generally made adjustments to make sure it fired. I don't think yours was professionally assembled, since I see the lower receiver hasn't been refinished.... but that is just a wild guess. I believe CAI or Enterprise offered a service at one time for rifle assembly... with different levels of build.

I would also look VERY closely at the 922r parts count. This will also ascertain the value.. for mine I swapped out furniture... gas piston and FCG's... etc... I know some folks didn't assemble according to 922r, but as a person who wants to stay within the law.... I certainly would suggest you look for these parts. You appear to have original furniture.....

Do you have the bipod for it? Or is it available for sale? Mags for it?

Generally when it comes to spot pricing in this era of "assault weapon bans" that are being discussed, I would defer you to Gunbroker and see what they sell for... not list for.... what they sell for. If you are that concerned about the CAI receiver, I would price according to the kit/ 922r parts worth.....

BTW, I would have to change out the sling! JMHO!!

Thanks for your response Midmichigun, sorry can't provide more photos as don't have access to weapon. There was no bipod, only one magazine, and that is a 'butt ugly sling'! Will let you know how things develop, guess I've got to learn about '922r parts' etc. Cheers, Don

Mark at Arizona Response Systems, a respected valley builder, looked at it today, and noted the receiver is Argentine, only imported by CAI, worth $450 standing alone. Yes there is a bipod, but alas, it is missing the hard-to-find gizmo that limits it's travel. Mark is building an L1A1 for me around an Imbel receiver. I've got everything right in the parts kits except correct pebble grain handguard. Soooo, shopping for that gizmo and an L1A1 pebble grain handguard. Cheers, Don

I have completed the bipod/coupler/latch assembly, recently finding the missing latch. I've hidden that ugly sling away, what is the most correct sling for the Izzy HB?
