    Cool Removing front sifgt blade on Remington 03a3

    Ihave removed front sight pin and blade is loose bt wwill not come out I have heated it and tapped it with plastic mallet; Does it tip up to come out or slide out? Appreciate any suggestions and Thank you in advance.

    I have had to use a brass punch and heavy hits on the front of the blade (way low down on the blade to slide to the rear and out.); on few tight ones... (probably has sand etc. in the channel binding)

    You don't want to use any grasping tools if you want to use the blade again, i.e. no pliers etc.

    The blade simply sits in a slot in the base. The slot is crimped slightly to produce a tight pinch fit so that the blade won't flop loosely. The blade should just tap right out.

    You might want to try our Google CSE custom search engine located in the top right corner below the words "Advanced Search". It only searches our site using Google techniques and can be quite efficient. For example, in your case, type in the words 1903 front sight removal and see what happens ..

    I checked and there are several posts covering that topic…
