    Polish M91 Sniper Stock Repair

Just picked up a Polish Mosin sniper that needs some repair to the stck. Im waiting to get it thru my FFL so I figured I would do some leg work regarding doing the repairs. Its got a beech stock and the repairs need to be done in the grip area right near the tang. Anyone have any pics or Polish arsenal repairs that may have been done to their stocks. I want the repair to look authentic to the rifle. I could opt to find another replacement stock, but I figure the repairs with give it character.

I like your idea of repairing vs replacing. I am hoping someone will reply with some pointers.
I googled m91 original stock repairs and got some results. I believe this or some variation in the search critera should at least yeild some visual referances to what an period repair should look like.

The stock is cracked thru the wrist but won't be able to completely evaluate it till my FFl has it Monday. I would rather keep it all in original fiven it is a Polish PU sniper. I have seen some repairs other parts of the stock but not to the wrist. Not sure if the Polish army pinned them when repaired. My father served in the Polish Air Force in the 50's and carried Polish M-44's, ad PPSh and a Polish TTC, but he does not recall seeing any arsenal repairs so he was of no help.

I took a look at the site, but no pics of a wrist repair. Some pics are a low quality so its tough to make out the pinning. Unfortunately that site has some strict rules for membership so I cant even ask questions w/o getting permission to become a member.
