Me and W02 Steve Harrod were the link/liaison Officers to the Aust Army shooting team at a couple of Bisleys early this century. I don't know how they hit the targets some days as they were always out drinking. Apparently it was only coca cola and lemonade or occasionally, a can of tizer........ or so I was assured

Yeah, spudgun team in 87, you would have shot with Frank Taylor, if you were with the rifle team in '89.
    I probably know you.
Pete, definately Coke, could you imagine an Aussie being anything other than Tea total? (swimming team exempted)

    This might help.Attachment 40845

Yes definately Phil , I Remember all the trouble with the Colt Commando barrels that they used for the carbine matches, Phil spent a fair bit of time with the team armourers trying to sort it out.

Yeah, I had the pleasure of being with the last team to use the F1, they were allways fascinated with the size of the holes we'd make in the targets.
But we could'nt compete with all the fancy 5.56 rifles in disguise being used in a sub machine gun comp.

The little bloke shooting the F1 needs to get it tucked right in. We were just getting rid of the last Owens when I was there and replacing them with AR15's and then, M16icon's. I did see F1's but can't remember using or being issued with one as SMG's were the norm with the RAEME bods!

I can't remember if he was a phillipino or Kiwi, but he was certainly making a point using it left handed in a country that frowned on the practice.
Can't blame him though, I was also left handed, had to swap and beat a lot of other right handed shooters to get on that tour.[COLOR="black"]
