I own a M1 Carbine Stamped ALPINE with a Four digit Serial #?

I bought it at a pawn shop over 20 years ago and have always wondered who in the hell manufactured it? I've never heard of an Alpine Co. Save for the Stereo Company? I doubt that it was made by them. The stock had the Pre-'46 stamp on it in two places (who's to say that some one didn't put that on from another rifle.) Anyway any light that anyone could shed on my mystery would be appreciated very much.

Wow! Gee thanks fellas for all the info!

Wow! Gee thanks fellas for all the info! The mystery has been solved. I accumulated quite a number of replacement parts from attending Gun Shows throughout the years. It's good to know now that my carbine is 100% compatible. That makes me happy. Thanks again for all your guy's help!

Your barrel may be made from a 1903 barrel. I had an Alpine and thats the barrel I had.

    Frenchkat,
The link above states All the barrels used on Alpines were made from 03 barrels.

    Alpine M1 Carbine

I recently ran across a stock made from Alder, looks very much like a all most grain less Birch.

    mrung0wa,
What type stock do you have?

    Thx,
    Charlie-Painter777
