A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Most of my books and firearms are where the computers are not! So it's a term you'll see frequently in my posts. Mostly because I'm a terrible typer. Which little skill was mostly learned jabbering on this site...

Using ANY Turk 7,9mm ammo in a Hakim is asking for trouble!!!!
Turk Rifle Ammo is made for BOLT action rifles and Recoil operated MGs like the Maxim, or Gas Operated Guns like the Hotchkiss (with variable Gas systems)

Use in any other Semi-Auto will destroy them...as has been already seen with Egyptian FN49s and Hakims, and G43s.

The reason is that the Powder Pressure curve for Turk ammo does not match the pressure curve rewquired for Gas operated Semi Auto rifles

It functions with out issue in my M76 Zastava sniper. Very low felt recoil. nothing to break in an AK. rifle designed to use 198gr. Rifle still in service in the Balkans, perhaps in Turkeyicon?

To clarify my position on Turk 8mm, The first time i fired a Hakim (1978) it launched the brass 50 yards. I used fnm 198 gr. I discovered the gas adjuster, acquired the tool, then put the brass in a pile 10 yards away. I have shot Turk ammo and adjusted the gas to make it work. I did the same with my M76. That is why they have gas adjusters.
