Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. To be honest, sounds like a typical lash-up based on a decent rifle that was probably scrapped due to a bulged barrel or similar.

UK auction value = sum of parts.

Restoration to No7 probably not worth the investment or hassle, unless you happen to have lusted after a No7 for years and years. I've got about ten rare model restorations in hand, and frankly they are simply not worth the effort - better to save the cash and wait for a complete original to come up.

    Agreed - I've got a BSA No7 so dont need a single shot No7.
As a 7.62 there are better conversions about

So, as a bit of a mongrel, probably better left alone.

I note that the webiste catalogue is now in line with the paper copy

Mike tends to source items in the auction and gives the nod to certain dealers etc that are looking for them, possible why its not listed and the other stuff has been removed.
