    Butt Plates

I know it's not much help now, but we have a two-part article on butt plates in the works for the GCAicon Journal. I did the early stuff for Part 1 and Tony Pucci is doing the second part on the trap door plates. The text is done, now he is re-taking all the pictures from his original research to make them color close-ups. The first part was scheduled for the Spring issue now at the printer, but it was pushed ahead to Summer to make space for a member article that came in. That means the butt plate articles will probably be in the Summer and Fall issues.
Real men measure once and cut.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. As my rifle was manufactured, at the earliest, late Dec 1941, the both screws are the same. To me a picture is worth a thousand words.

Thanks for the picture Joe, now I know what you fellows are talking about. If the rest of that rifle is in as nice a shape as the butt plate it must be outstanding.

You have a very nice rifle! Congradulations My LL #430582 has the same buttplate as
yours. I will not be changing it. It looks pretty original to me.
