    International Harvester

I was just cleaning some guns in the safe and pulled out a CMPicon M1icon I purchased a few years ago. The receiver is marked as an International Harvester with an IH trigger group housing. The serial number on the housing is one number off from the number on the side of the receiver. The rest of the parts appear to be SA parts however their is a RRAD hand engraved on the receiver with a 07/65 date. The 65 date matches the date on the SA barrel. The TE is just shy of 2. What do you all think this could be worth? I'm not really thinking of selling her, just curious. Just might have to take her out shooting soon.

Pictures tell us much more that descriptions, sounds like a rack grade, to have it classed any better would need many pictures from many angles.

You can just go to CMPicon website and compare. They sell exactly what you have.

Those are not serial numbers, they are part numbers. All trigger housings have that number.

RRAD is the Red River Army Depot. You have a rifle rebuilt there in 1965. It is probably a Service Grade. I got one rebuilt at RRAD and it has a Winchester Receiver and SA barrel dated 1947. Its worth is basically what someone is willing to pay you for it.

Welcome aboard and congrats on the IHC! Garands are a world all their own and are a fascinating rifle to get to know.

Here in N. California a springfield M1icon is going for $1,000 at my local gun shop. I never took my gauges to tell if they were rack or service grades. Sounds like your may be service grade according to the TE but the ME would narrow that down some and pictures even more. The IHC are more rare so they would command a little more. Jeep's estimate is in the strike zone.
