Lee Enfield N°4 MK1 wood treatment

Hi,
could you tell me what was the dye used on fore end and stock of N°4MK1 to get that special dark brown color?
The fore-end seems varnished. linseed oil icon

Hi None that I know of just the natural color of the aging linseed oil icon

. Watch the video wood goes to war. really great history, it's on the first page of the forum before regular threads. I am not positive about a dye being used or not. But someone here on this forum can tell you for sure
