A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I was messaging a fellow in Manitoba on CGN who picked one up at a community hall gun show. They are out there, but you have to look.

Its worth testing every "ordinary" PH5C you come across, just in case - some of them are 1/4 minute anyway, or 1/4 and 1/2. PH seems to have mixed up its model numbering system - if it ever was a numbering system....

They also had multiple thread systems too. What a palava.......... Dealing with them was a nightmare apparently. They would refuse to supply spare parts for their sights explaining (in an old letter that I saw recently) that overhaul was a job for their experts..........

    ^ for Peter:

Over on another thread there is a conversation about wasteful contracts and procurement overspending. Funny how even the simplest of technical tasks are somehow reserved for civilian "professionals" when highly trained, but somehow untrustworthy, military apprentices, journeymen and masters are snubbed.

How does the A.J. Parker model T.Z. 4/47 compare to the PH-sight?

About equal. I think PH is more common than AJP, but I might be wrong.
