The situation seems to be easing somewhat. And it hasn't been storefront dealer hoarding that I've seen. (I get to go in back in a few places.) But there are folk that haunt the various big box stores during the likely restocking times. This has been confirmed by talking to the employees and other folk who have seen the phenomenon. Haven't yet figured out who these ammo scroungers are, but I suspect they're fleamarket, gunshow and internet auction types. Personally, I yet to see a box of .22lr in a store for 4-5 months, but a work buddy got a few boxes the other day. Beats all I've ever seen.
