    The Holy Grail arrived

Some may recall I was looking for a few sizes of a LEC nose cap, so after a few kind offers and whilst knocking up a drawing for the members to fill in the blanks I received an email pointing me to a guy who had a job lot made he originally wanted only two but had around 20 made IIRC, anyway it arrived and it is excellent, the wood work has had only linseed oilicon and then boiled linseed oilicon, the butt when cleaning off the old shelac come up rather nice and I found a fort William roundel, still the barrel band and retaining spring to locate or fabricate.

Did this come from Canadaicon? Reportedly there was someone in Ontario making these up. Am I right that the sight ears are not tapering as much as the originals did?

Looks like a super restoration coming along there; did you make up the handguards?

Lovely little rifles, despite the rather hard to grasp bolt knobs.

Nose cap and timber come from New Zealandicon But different suppliers, the timber is made to order but I know there are a few nose caps left, have details for anyone interested, not sure regarding the taper on the sight ears as I only have pics etc to compare it to, it may of been cast from a Metford carbine as the protectors are flush with the blade ?

    Thanks Stuart,

Still a bit to do, but its all down to folks like yourself that I,ve got this far, planing on giving it a run out in the next few weeks, Will have to knock up a barrel band to test it, will be using down loaded ammo, also got a bolt cover in hand to complete it.

I have two LEC handguards if someone needs one. The person who I have been holding them for has got scarce and it has been 9 month since he spoke for them.
Anyhow, contact me via PM and help clean out "the shed" (tm)

Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?
