ALDIS Scope SMLE Sniper

I have come across this ALDIS scope. Is it suitable to make a No1 MkIII Sniper repro? And if so, are the mounts available, or just a pipe dream?

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. The scope you have is the civvy version rather than one of the WW1 military issue types. You could always fit it to a SMLE if you wanted to, but you really want the slightly shorter military pattern.
Mounts have been intermittently available over the last 15 years or so, from a few people, including yours truly. At the moment I am waiting for more stocks of PPCo., Aldis Purdey & Whitehead/Winchester A5 mounts. Hopefully they should all materialise at some point this year!

NewbieDan is also working on reproductions of the mounts and rings used on Aussie HT rifles.

Here are a couple of the military version with Purdey mounts. One from my collection, the other fromAttachment 43491 Attachment 43490 a friend's.
