    ALDIS Scope SMLE Sniper

I have come across this ALDIS scope. Is it suitable to make a No1 MkIII Sniper repro? And if so, are the mounts available, or just a pipe dream?

    Cheers guys.

The scope you have is the civvy version rather than one of the WW1 military issue types. You could always fit it to a SMLE if you wanted to, but you really want the slightly shorter military pattern.
Mounts have been intermittently available over the last 15 years or so, from a few people, including yours truly. At the moment I am waiting for more stocks of PPCo., Aldis Purdey & Whitehead/Winchester A5 mounts. Hopefully they should all materialise at some point this year!

Think the OP has put it up for sale on that website chaps - although oddly the listing says it's in NZicon not Oz.

    Roger,

If either of us decides to part with one, you're at the top of the list.

Interesting photo. Is that Brooks the bicycle seat/saddle people?
