    New laws?

Without getting into the politics of it
Has anyone heard if carbines will be restricted in California?

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Considering the number of us carbine aficionados in California, the information would be carbine related, and can be disseminated through the forum MINUS the politics. We would like to know!

A number of bills are moving through your state house which include but not limited to,
Ban of sale/manufacture/transfer of "Assult weapons" whatever they are.
Back ground check for ammo purchases.
A license to buy a handgun that itself costs $250.00
$50.00 fee paid to the people's republic for a Back ground check
A requirement to notify "authorities" of ammo purchases in exsess of 3000rds.
My favorite, State registration of all "Assult weopons"
There's more of these common sense laws but I'm going off the top of my head from an article I read on I think Drudge a few days ago so I may be off but you get the drift.

You're right, it is carbine associated and this information can be disseminated without the politics but it won't be easy so let's be careful with our wording.

The answer to the OP's question is yes, the M1icon carbine will be an assault weapon and illegal to own without registration as will any other semi-auto, detachable magazine fed rifle whether center or rim fire. A Ruger 10/22 will be an assault rifle as will a Remington 7400. The Bullet Button will not be a recognized device. The magazine will have to be permanently attached.

Please again, let's watch our wording on this.

I was letting this run a bit. But Bill is correct. Milsurps is not a venue for discussing the politics of firearms ownership or the practices and policies of various governments attempting to control them. Answers to that can be found on something such as Google.

For that reason I am going to close this thread.
