!915 or earlier K98az

I have a K98az, as I understand, an early one, it has the early wooden original stock, no washer for bolt assembly. the crest has been ground off but the numbers left and they all match I believe it's a Erfurt the rifle has 127E all over it. Serial numbers match, with turned down bolt with checkered underside of bolt. I'm looking for some information on the rifle, I'm not a mauser buff, so lost on this.
It's in great shape other than the crest removal. I would like to know if it really is an early gun and what to look for. Thanks, Regards Ian

That ought to be without grasping grooves in the forestock.

Polish rifle. Poland received thousands after WWI as war reparations. No way to tell if it is 1905 or 1915. No way to tell arsenal, either.
