My new "toy", not really a "Mauser", but close enough for this forum.

This is an SSD BD-44 in 8mm Kurz I picked up this month. This is basically the same as the USAicon PTR-44 copy of the MP44, but without any 922r compliant parts - a small advantage of living in Canadaicon.

This one is wearing original furniture (stock, stock fittings, grips, fore stock). I'm still trying to source original bolt and bolt carrier to replace the SSD parts. The SSD parts work fine, but I'd like to use real WW2 parts as much as possible since I can't have a real transferable auto up here.

Like in the USA, these are not on the inexpensive side of things, sadly. But still a very very cool item.

The fake-ish markings on it are Haenel, and so far all the real prats on it are also Haenel manufacture More by accident than design.

I have a couple real WW2 MP44 mags en-route. The one mag I have for it now is a Haenel MKb.42(H) magazine. Same thing, different markings

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Interesting design... I was actually able to touch a Registered one here in USAicon. Closet find... Talk about a lucky owner!
But I think that yours is sweet, especially if you kit it out with original parts (when possible).
How is the ammo? And accuracy??

For ammo, I've secured a bunch of new PRIVI ammo. I haven't shot the gun yet though. Haven't had a chance to take it out yet!
