Odd fact about bolt and bolt head.

Las evening i disassembled bolt head from bolt body. Bolt head need e new extractor spring. No problem at all, so a reassembled extractor amd extractor springin place and reassembled the Whole bolt. Now the odd thing: i have to exert a big power to align bolt head to bolt body at a point that it's hard to insert the bolt in the rifle. In fact bolt head points to the right of "bolt Groove". What sould i do in order to have bolt head correctly aligned withouth effort?

It's called 'a process of elimination'
Take the bolt and head out of the rifle, remove the bolt head and remove the extractor, spring and screw. Now just insert the BOLT into the rifle.

Now assemble the bare bolt head to the bolt and try again.......... and so on until eventually you will come to what is causing the problem.

But on the face of it, simply fitting a new extractor, spring and screw should not interfere with the alignment or assembly of the bolt head.

You did not say whether it was a No1 or a No4 rifle OR whether you were fitting a different bolt head

It's the original bolt head , fitted ( and well fitted, according to your instructions, Peter) , the bolt head fitted to the rifle in 1944 i presume. But i can't know if anyone has repleced it in the past. My rifle was in service under Italianicon Navy from the mid '50 when Italy became memer of NATO. Rifle was produced at Long Branch , Canadaicon. Because the fact Italian Army has never had good armourers and soldiers weren't trained in accuracy shooting, i think it's all original. It seems to be a No.4 bolt head , only variance from other bolt head i've seen is that: bolt head face toward the cartridge rim, is shiny something like polished while other bolt head i own are "blued".

Just a process of elimination then Bow. But fitting a new extractor will not affect the fit or alignment of a bolt head
