tokarev vs cz52

I know these aren't rifles but they are soviet block. I'm debating between the two and want to know which one is the all around better handgun as far as accuracy, reliability, feel in the hand, trigger, and much anything else. which one would you personally choose?

Never heard of anyone blowing up a Tokarev even with hot Czech SMG ammo.Can't say the same for the CZ52.

Just the opposite of what I've heard. I've shot the Czech SMG ammo out of the Czech pistol. No dramas.
The pistols are probably about as good as each other in the real world. Individual examples will show more variation than a blanket comparsion of the two types. As for feel, that's very subjective! Try one of each before purchasing.

I have experienced cz52 failures. non catastrophic roller lock damage. No failures with the TT33. it is still issued. I shoot all issue ammunition. Prefer Chinese.

The Tokarev beats the CZ hands-down in every one of the categories you listed.

which of the two would be eisier to find parts for? As for which will handle the higher pressure surplus ammunition better, I don't plan on shooting that stuff. I will mostly be shooting modern factory loads and maybe a few hand loads.

For the TT, you won't really need any parts, but springs and mags are readily available.

They are both great guns but I'd go with a Tokarev personally. I took my 1953 CZ and 1953 Tok to the range a couple months back for a side by side comparison on groupings and how each type of mechanics handled the recoil of the X25 round. While the CZ feels better in the meathooks I have for hands, I was getting better groupings with the Tokarev hands down. What I found interesting is that even though they are built so differently, there really wasn't a difference in how the recoil felt between the two!

Every Communist country, at some point, used Tokarevs. The CZ52 was made by the Czechs and exported here and there.

The Tok is a decent shooter. Crappy sights typically, and you have to carry it chamber empty. Low capacity, but VERY reliable piece. The CZ is a nicer design, easier to shoot in my limited experience, but have fun finding much in the way of parts and mags.

As a 'better than a sharp stick or a rock' option, the Tok is a good piece and fulfills the role it was intended to. The Makarov is a far nicer shooter and general all-around piece, though the Russians have never thought much of it. Two former Soviet infantrymen i've known both stated the Makarov was good for committing suicide or executing prisoners, otherwise, "get yourself a Kalashnikov".....
