Cooey Model 75 Single Shot Barrel Steel?

Hello all, this is my first post here and I have a question concerning the steel used in the Cooey model 75 barrel. It has a very high 'ring' to it which makes me think it might be more than free machining carbon steel as sometimes used in 22lr barrels. I do have a 22lr single shot that says 'Ordinance Steel' and cutting one of those barrels confirmed it - it's tough!
