A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. He didn't have a clue on what that helmet would be worth in 50 years. If it was SS it might bring as high as $20K!

But then again no one had much of an idea back then

A Rochester veteran started going back in 1947 collecting stuff.

His house was full from basement to attic.

Was personal friend of Rommel's son.

    Forest gunth survived the war

Answered the final roll call in 2009

His memorabilia in now located in several European museums

When in Greece in 1971 I could have bought all the Germanicon helmets I wanted for $25.00 each. Fallschirmjager helmets were $50.00. Man if I could go back.

There's a little museum located in Eldred, PA that is full of items just like that from attics and basements everywhere. Best museum this side of the National WWII museum! Also has a lot of goodies from a Russianicon vet from the Eastern Front.

Mauser alright but not your typical K98icon. Sling attaches at the bottom of the stock not through the side and a straight bolt. Maybe a G98???

Ooops. That would make sense, since he's got a Germanicon helmet on. My bad.
