New guy with his first Enfield.

Hi. I am new here and would like to show you guys my 1943 Long Branch I picked up for $75.00 about a year ago at a yard sale. I have not shot it yet but plan to. I really like the history of items like this more than shooting them. The numbers on the rifle, bolt and mag all match. It has import marks and has been FTR'd in 49. It looks like the only thing done to it when it was FTR'd was replace the barrel. The stock is a complete savage marked stock. I have a Long Branch marked pig sticker and about 7 Charger clips. I think it was a nice deal at a great price. I will not give out the serial number so do not ask, That why there is blue tape in the pics and no picture of the bolt. Thanks

1stLee: "Nice deal" is a bit of an understatement! Can you tell where the "FTR" was done from any markings on the barrel, etc? Thanks for showing it.

It is marked F(FTR) on the side of the receiver I think that is Fazakerley

Also it has a lot of cosmolineicon on it. I do not think it has been fired after it was FTR'd. I removed the bolt head and there was a large drip of Cosmoline on the very tip.

I looked it over and could not see any other N Z marks. How can you tell if the pig sticker is from 1943? Thanks
