There are lists available of the bad lots of this make of ammo and this is not one of those lots listed. There are over 100 lots that are listed and only a few had bad cases in them.

Maybe but just beacuse your lot isnt on the list doesnt mean it is safe. Listed lots are just the ones that were reported
    The OP asked if
'I would fire this ammo in my Garandicon" Its just not worth it to "me" to take a chance
Just my opinion yours may vary

Not jaded, just lamenting the cost

OK Folks, I'm not denigrating the Cs and Ds. Love to have one. I am regretting not buying a Garandicon when they were around $600 from CMPicon, now that price range is unavailable, and the Cs are way out of reach and the Ds are well at my current max disposable income.

    Please tell me where?

    orlando:

At $600 price point, I'm ready to jump on that. Where are these Service grade at $600? I've been haunting the North Store Forum for months. Should have bought a CMPicon Special, but they are all sold. Now all I see are Rack Grade M1Ds for $950.

Any tips on locating a Garandicon would be much appreciated.

    Many thanks!

    Orlando:

Thanks for the tip, never thought of resorting to mail order. Was getting set to drive to the North Store.

I'll give it a whirl, since I have all the paperwork on hand.

They have rack grade M-1 D's for 950? That's interesting.

    Now you've done it

    Orlando:

You are hereby charged with "aiding and abetting"! I mailed the CMPicon order information today.

I realize its a bit of a lottery thing from here, with several thousand mail orders in the hopper I'd expect I won't get a response until Christmas. And I hope those dire CMP web-site warnings about the usability of the M1icon to be shipped are well overstated.

I suppose I now have time to prepare an explanation for my dear wife as to why a Garand is a must have.

    Anticipation is delicious.
