    Type 99 Arisaka Bolt issues

Hello I am new to this forum and relatively new to collecting military surplus firearms. I recently purchased a type 99 Arisakaicon Toyo Kogyo and I believe it was made mid war. I was cycling the action when it got stuck closed and the safty piece at the back of the bolt came off. I have not been able to put it back on and I have not been able to open the bolt either. Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated.

    THANKS

If the bolt won't move or come out you are probably going to have to take the action out of the stock to remove it. Find a good dis-assembly video online and see how to do this correctly. I believe you will have to remove the trigger assembly and possibly the bolt stop to get it out. Then you can check the bolt itself to re-assemble it correctly. Hopefully the safety was inserted incorrectly and is not broken.

"Type 99 bolt issues" one of the least commonly heard things in milsurp collecting.

sounds like somebody didn't reassemble the bolt correctly.

I was able to fix it and I believe someone did not assemble it correctly who ever had it before me. I took the bolt lock off and was able to get it out. I then re assembled it the correct way and it now seems to be fine thanks for the help.
