Ok, trying something about a bayonet

Here I am trying another style of post for the Beta-testing phase!

I have only one kind of non-fixed bayonet, a Pattern 1907 for my SMLE.

Here is a picture I found of such a bayonet from the web, because I want to try to link to an external picture.

Looking forward to the new forum, which I believe will be much safer and quicker than the old CSPicon. Thanks to all that have made this transition possible.

The photo is from my computer - click on it to enlarge. A nice feature and one that I am glad to see.

A square 10, .....[B-29s] I love um, My last job before i retired was to make sure that B-29 Z square 58 [Marilyn Gay], was properly put togeather
[Historically correct] for display here in GA. I had a great time doing it.
A-T-V-Z were in the 73rd Bomb wing--20th Air Force Stationed at Saipan.

yes sir - the avitar doesnt show it - my fathers crew is in the lower corner - their plane Asquare10 "our baby" made the cover of yank , she also survived the war , she is shown on hardstand saipan and the article was about their trip over the 'homeland' on dec 7th 1944 , just because we could , ive got some of his diary/letter notes referancing this but not at hand ,

he is bottom row -third from the right , he was the left waiste gunner , and electrician on the ground crew ,

i adopted this handle because he was the one that introduced me to the world of milsurps and shooting , i inherited his collection-and have been adding to it ever since 2000 , he died 11/11/00

im sure it was some carma error on your part , as the aircraft you refer to is the 'enola' gay , flown by tibbits [who just passed away last year incidently] named after his mother , off the island of tinian a short hop from saipan across the channel , the carma referance is that my mothers name is marilyn , and you caught me with that ...

tinian was the other base of the 73rd & 58th , the 20th air force was a definite influence on my childhood and and i dont meet all that many that recognise what you have ,

my father did have the privledge of flying with morgan[memphis belle fame] in a flyover of the marine cemetary on saipan shortly after they were deployed there , morgan flew the lead ship in the formation that day , it was also published in one of the publications of the time , most dont know that morgan left europe and assumed a command position in the pacific ,
